Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by your facilitator Sam. There'll be a brief get-to-know-you along with the safety rules of the farm. This introduction will cover why and how you found your way to Mane and Mind, and what you hope to achieve, improve or overcome through the program.
You'll then meet the many horses that call the farm home. Sometimes the horses choose you and sometimes you choose your horse. Sam help you establish a partnership with a horse of your own and we will spend time grooming and interacting and building confidence around the horses using a series of groundwork tasks that lead you to self-discovery. The focus will be on internal dialogue, stress management and mind management.
As the sessions come to a close, you'll discuss the difficulties that arose through the tasks, how they were overcome along with the parallels to day-to-day life interactions and situations. You and Sam will then return the horse to the herd.
In closing reflection, there are many picturesque places to sit on the farm and experience both comradeship and solitude. Take time to reflect and relax. Spend time with the livestock guardian dogs and sheep in their pastoral setting or sit by the river as it flows while listening to the wind gently rustling the trees. Reflect on troubles without interruptions of everyday life. It'll be your choice to share your reflections or not. The goal is to process how to overcome and work through the stresses. This is a peaceful and non-intrusive time to approach and vocalize, should you wish to.
The choice is yours. Where do you feel drawn? We have many avenues that we can help you to forge your own path and be empowered by your achievements. You just need to take the first step by contacting us below.

I’d also like to emphasize the importance of the support our community receives from Front line workers, First responders and our Military (serving and retired) and would like to acknowledge the commitment they make and would like to encourage the members in our communities to approach this program.
The duration of the session will typically be 60 minutes with some flexibility.
